NSW Labor calls on support for workers & businesses during lockdown

Yesterday, opposition leader Chris Minns in a media release said, ‘We have been heartened to see the people of Greater Sydney and NSW respond to the recent COVID-19 restrictions. Streets are empty, people are wearing masks, staying home wherever possible, and getting tested in record numbers.’
‘We have said that NSW Labor supports the NSW Government’s COVID-19 measures, based on the health advice, to help keep us all safe.’
The opposition leader points out that, ‘there will be a tough financial impact on workers and businesses over the coming weeks’, noting that, ‘the economic cost of a lockdown can be up to $850 million a week. This will have a real human impact on millions of people across Greater Sydney and NSW.’
So rather than take pot-shots at the Berejiklian Government, he wants them to roll out any assistance as quickly as they can, which is a Labor Party standing up for their traditional base and others…
