New Zealand’s Resources Minister, Shane Jones, has told 4BC Drive, New Zealand will clear out the “woke virus” as he defends a reversal on the ban of gas drilling.

Mr Jones claims former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern allowed “wokemania” to infiltrate their country.

“We’re about to pass legislation that extinguishes and incinerates that legislative folly that she visited upon New Zealand, stopping further oil and gas exploration in New Zealand,” he said.

“Look, I’ve deployed some hyperbole and rhetoric, but I mean, what do you expect? I’m a politician, and we needed to shift the needle … We cannot afford these UN-dictated indulgences, these vanity projects,” he added.
