MP hit with election campaign dirty tactics

Luke Grant

Luke Grant speaks with Lucy Wicks MP, Liberal member for Robertson & Chair of Select Committee on Social Media and Online Safety, who has been subject to some pretty ordinary campaign tactics with dishonest, unfair and appalling flyers being distributed in her electorate we’re told indicating that the federal government is planning to replace the pension with some kind of debit card.

The story is completely fraudulent, but that hasn’t stopped vulnerable people contacting her office in fear that things were about to change.

Ms Wicks also talks about the Parliamentary Enquiry into online safety that she heads, which met with Facebook, Tik Tok and others this week – the suggestion is that those platforms are too slow to act in removing harmful and dangerous posts.
