Meat producer confused by ‘misleading labelling’ on plant-based food

Queensland Senator Susan McDonald is pushing for an inquiry into Australia’s labelling laws.

The newly-formed Alternative Proteins Council says companies producing plant-based alternatives use terms like ‘sausages’ to describe their product’s format and utility and that to restrict the use of commonly understood format terms would generate confusion amongst consumers.
