‘Let’s champion the trades’: Jason Matthews advocates for increased TAFE enrolments

Infrastructure Australia forecasts that by March next year, there will be a staggering shortage of more than 54,000 skilled trade workers as Queensland gears up for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Jason Matthews called for students to consider career paths outside of university, “It’s time for a reset. We must start encouraging both boys and girls to consider trades not as a second choice, but as a first-class career path.”
