Notorious sex criminal Robert John Fardon remains under a supervision order after an 11th hour decision by the Queensland Court of Appeal.

The 69 year old would have been free to live as he pleased from today had the state not challenged the end of the order that placed restrictions on him.

Fardon may yet have the supervision order lifted but as Qld Law Society Deputy President Bill Potts tells Mark that will now be a decision for the Trial Division of the Supreme Court.
