K’gari at a breaking point: Visitor caps vs. dingo safety

Following the tragic death of a 19-year-old backpacker, Butchulla Aboriginal Group Director Christine Royan joined Dean & Sofie on 4BC Breakfast to argue that the current visitor management plan for K’gari is outdated and dangerously insufficient.

She advocated for stricter visitor caps during dingo breeding seasons and an increased presence of on-the-ground rangers to enforce safety and education.
