Jeep to introduce its first all electric SUV in the 2nd half of 2024

DAVID BERTHON

Jeep will introduce its first electric model in the second half of 2024 in the form
of the compact Avenger SUV. The Polish built front wheel drive Avenger will
feature a single electric motor and a 54kWh battery pack providing a driving
range up to 400km. With a claimed output of 115kW and 260Nm of torque the
Avenger shares its Peugeot/Citroen underpinnings with the likes of Peugeot’s
2008 promising “all terrain and all-weather capability”. The compact Jeep
Avenger will provide a new entry point for the American brand which has suffered
in recent years with declining sales – its July year-to-date tally of 2,937 running
27.8 per cent behind the same time last year. The Avenger whilst a late entry for
Jeep should lift the brands sales in the small SUV segment however with around
24 players it’s a very competitive market segment. I’m David Berthon
