International students exploited by under-regulated housing market

Michael speaks to Maria Nawaz, Lecturer/Human Rights Clinic Supervisor in the UNSW Human Rights Clinic, about their new report that finds that international students are being exploited by Sydney’s under-regulated informal housing market with a considerable portion not having access to affordable, legal & secure accommodation.

The study found exploitation ranged from forcing students to pay $10 each time they needed to use their oven to blatant racism… with landlords refusing students from particular countries.
