Inland Rail review needed

News of a review into Queensland’s Inland Rail has sparked calls in New South Wales for equal treatment.

The current route crosses the Condamine floodplain, which many say will change water flows in the region – risking properties and lives.

The federal government has asked the Australian Rail Track Corporation to investigate a route further west which would require less floodplain crossing.

Rural reporter Sophie Clarke caught up with New South Wales Farmers Inland Rail Taskforce Chairman Adrian Lyons to hear why sites in his state also need review.
