Impacts on livestock as blue-green algae blooms.

Livestock owners are being advised to identify an alternative water supply, and check sources for signs of blue green algae.

Deaths can occur when stock drink toxins produced by the algae blooms – typically within 24-hours of consumption.

Rural reporter Sophie Clare caught up with Victoria’s Acting Chief Veterinary Officer Doctor Cameron Bell to find out more about it.
