Hyundai’s latest seven-seat Sante Fe due at year end breaks cover

David Berthon

Details have emerged of the updated version of Hyundai’s popular Sante Fe SUV ahead of its launch late this year – photos reveal a very stylish new look. On face value, the Hyundai Sante Fe trumps the new Kia Sorrento in the looks department with its full width rectangular grille with low-set headlights and slim LED daytime running lights above. Inside, more upmarket with improved materials and a new 10,25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a new rotary dial gear selector and a floating console dash design purveying a more expansive feel. Engine power remains the current 3.5-litre V6 petrol and 2.2-litre turbo diesel with some updates much like the latest Kia Sorrento. A new hybrid Sante Fe is also expected next year based on a 1.6-litre petrol engine and an electric motor drawing power from a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. Hyundai’s brand value continues to rise – now ranked fifth amongst global automotive brands behind Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Honda.
