How regularly do you change your energy plan?

While most people check their energy plan once a year, this may not be enough to keep the best deal. Wholesale prices have just dropped, resulting in a market reset in July. So, even if you moved to a good plan in June, there are now better deals to be had.

A year ago, the biggest discounts in NSW and Victoria were between 15% and 10% less than the Government Reference Prices. When July 1 of 2020 rolled around, the cheapest deals on the market were over 20% and 15% respectively.

Joel Gibson, money columnist for the Sydney Morning Herald and author of Kill Bills!, joins John Stanley to explain how you can save hundreds by switching your energy plans around.
