Good news from Alfa Romeo with a refreshed Giulia sport sedan line-up
Some good news from Alfa Romeo – its updated rear-drive Giulia sports sedan with added safety and driver assist technology has finally arrived in dealerships – a revised line-up of three models – the new entry Giulia Sport and mid-spec Giulia Veloce, both with 2.0-litre turbo engines of different output and the flagship Giulia Quadrifoglio with 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6. All three have 8-speed automatics with manual paddles – Prices start at $63,950 for the Giulia Sport, the mid-spec Veloce $71,450, the top-flight Quadrifoglio with incredible performance and the Nurburgring lap record holder, from $138,950. The Giulia Sport is $3,050 dearer than the old entry Giulia, but Alfa claim it’s 10 per cent more value while the Veloce and Quadrifoglio have fallen in price, the latter by $6,950. A new 8.8-inch colour touch screen is a huge improvement while a host of driver assist technologies like autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian detection have really lifted the Giulia’s value proposition.
