On the show: Feegs covers the headlines to start your weekend, including reports that journalists are finally going to be allowed to sit in on children’s court hearings and report on them. We also hear more about Star Casino’s plan to ask the Queensland Government for help as financial woes hit the company due to “costly project delays”. 

Acting Assistant Police Commissioner Andrew Massingham joins for a weekly update on the latest local crime issues and statistics. AAC Massingham tells us more about an officer injured during an arrest in Roma today and provides an update on Taskforce Guardian.

Aspire Retire Financial Services co-founder Olivia Maragna joins for Money Talks. Olivia tells us more about the RBA Governor’ Michelle Bullock’s latest warnings that around 5% of people with home loans will need to make “quite painful adjustments” in the near future; as well as a report that highlights women’s financial priorities. We also hear a question from a listener related to a common rental property issue. 

For our Local Issues segment: Feegs asks the question “how safe is it to be carrying Ammonium Nitrate around on a truck?” In the wake of the recent fatal truck explosion on the Bruce Highway, Feegs speaks with Sydney University Professor and co-founder/Chief Scientist at PlasmaLeap Technologies, PJ Cullen, who led a crack team of scientists to discover safer ways to transport and produce the substance. 

Elsewhere on the show: Former Bronco and Australian NRL legend Justin Hodges joins Feegs to commiserate over the Broncos unsuccessful 2024 season. Justin gives his views plus chats further about his time in the sport, and what he expects from a future Broncos side.
