Olympia Kwitowski

On the show today: Gardening Hour sees Olympia and Arno King talk about ‘International Pink Day’ and how you can use pink in many different ways in your garden, from shrubs to herbaceous plants and more. Arno also answers lots of your questions about Singapore daisies, pruning rose bushes, caring for anthuriums, wandering jew plants, and we get an update from a past caller about how their bird’s nest fern is doing after following Arno’s advice.

In the second hour, Olympia checks in with Dave Mclean and Nick Moore from Surf Life Saving Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast Life Saving, respectively, to get an update on the beaches with this unpredictable weather. Olympia also chats with acupuncturist and fertility specialist Dr Kirsty Eng about tips for reducing toxic chemicals in our daily lives. Dr Eng talks about finding alternatives to the more well-known brands, and the shocking amount of microplastics humans consume everyday even through the tap water. Plus: Artistic Director of Queensland Musical Theatre (QMT) Deian Ping joins Olympia to talk about the 40th anniversary of QMT and the unexpected way she became involved with the organisation. Deian also tells us all about upcoming QMT productions of ‘My Fair Lady’ and ‘Mary Poppins’ that Deian herself is directing.
