FULL SHOW: 4BC Weekend Breakfast with Olympia Kwitowski, Sunday 16th June 2024

Paul Burt

On the show today: Gardening Hour sees Olympia and Arno King discuss Brassicas! Arno shares the health qualities associated with this member of the cabbage family, with recent studies showing that it can be effective in decreasing the risk of developing dementia. Arno also answers your questions about combating cabbage moths, getting your paw paw tree to fruit and the challenges of growing brussel sprouts in SE QLD. PLUS Arno’s plant of the week: the Brazilian Red Cloak (Megaskepasma erythrochlamys) – a lush and tropical looking plant that is good for screening.

In the second hour, Olympia shares a recent run-in with Woolworths car insurance, and the response she received from the supermarket giant.
We also hear from former Olympian Natalie Cook OAM about her brand new project ‘The Aussie Athlete Fund’. With the Paris Olympics fast approaching, what often gets lost is the hard work and potential debt that our athletes face to physically get to the games, as these sports don’t attract the funding that our major sporting codes do. Nat explains what the fund is and its aims to ensure more athletes can pursue their gold medal dreams.
PLUS another edition of Olympia’s Food Olympics! We dive headfirst into Japanese-inspired cuisine with Supernova co-owner Chewie Choo.
