Former Tigers coach Michael Maguire keen to continue NRL coaching career

Continuous Call Team

Former NRL coach Michael Maguire says he still wants to coach again in the NRL, after he was sacked by the Wests Tigers last week.

Maguire spent three and a half seasons at the helm, where the Tigers won 29 out of 80 games.

Despite his recent departure from Concord, Maguire will now turn his focus to coaching New Zealand in the mid-season Test against Tonga.

He told The Continuous Call Team he hasn’t given up on coaching in the NRL again.

“The coaching caper is something I love doing,” Maguire said.

“I really enjoy growing young men and turning them into the greatest players within the game.

“It’s something there that’s a passion.

“I’ve always wanted to do it and I always will want to do it, so where that takes me I guess, time will tell.”

Maguire won a premiership as coach of the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2014.
