Ford recently updated its Mustang range, on the back of the popular muscle car posting its 29th consecutive month as Australia’s top-selling sports car. The updated Mustang range sees more power for the V8’s and slightly less for the four-cylinder variants while automatic versions now come with a 10-speed gearbox in lieu of a six-speed. Prices have lifted however, the entry 2.3-litre ecoboost four-cylinder fastback up $4,000 to 49,990, automatic versions to $52,990. The V8 manual now kicks off at $62,990, in auto at $66,259, while the auto-only V8 convertible lifts $8,793 to $74,709. Ford’s pony car was in high demand at its launch in late 2015 with long waiting lists however more stock has seen recent strong discounts emerge – however, in October a potent limited-edition six-speed manual Mustang Bullitt will arrive. Named after Steve McQueen’s 1968 action movie the Mustang Bullitt will sell for $73,688 in just one colour Dark Highland Green. Just 700 will be available. I’m David Berthon
