Fire ant nests have been discovered and destroyed at Musgrave Park just a week before the 50th anniversary of the Panyiri Festival.

Invasive Species Council advisory manager Reece Pianta joined Dean & Sofie on 4BC Breakfast to reassure the public that the event will go ahead safely, though he stresses the critical need for continued government funding to manage the pest.
