Fears wool prices will tumble as coronavirus spreads

There’s concerns the outbreak of coronavirus could have a major impact on global trade.

The sars outbreak in 2002 saw China place restrictions on the import of animal products.

That saw wool exports to China fall by 20 percent in 2002, then by 32 percent in 2003.

To find out how the year has started for the wool industry, and what sort of impact coronavirus could have on markets, rural reporter Eddie Summerfield spoke with AWI Woolgrower Engagement General Manager Marius Cumming.
