Farm leasing increases in limited market

Leasing land could become more common in the agriculture sector as farmers look to expand in an environment of limited purchasing opportunities.

A recent report from Rabobank shows 28-percent of farmers nationwide are leasing some part of their operating areas…

Of those, 11-percent increased the area of land they lease in 2019.

Rural editor Eddie Summerfield caught up with Analyst Wes Lefroy to tell us more about why the option is becoming more compelling for both tenants and landlords:
