Remember how last weekend ‘The Sunday Mail’ launched its campaign to have the boring machines from Cross-River Rail stay in Brisbane a bit longer so they could drill a tunnel for a new underground freight line from Acacia Ridge to the Port of Brisbane? It was Everald Compton who founded the Inland Railway back in 1996. He takes us back in time to explore how he got the original project up and running, and weighs in on how it’s being managed today.
