‘Disappointed’: Jacinta Nampijinpa Price opens up on demotion from shadow Cabinet and Indigenous affairs role
Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has admitted to 4BC Afternoons she’s disappointed to have been moved out of the shadow Indigenous affairs role into an outer-ministry position as defence spokesperson.
Her comments come after opposition leader Sussan Ley told Jason Matthews on 4BC Breakfast Price had been excited by the change in roles.
“Don’t get me wrong, I am excited about being able to be a part of this new role and to broaden my understanding … I’d rather be sitting in that particular role than on the backbench,” she said.
Kerrynne Liddle has taken over Price’s former portfolio, with Price saying she has a lot of faith in the South Australian minister.
“We’re very close; she will carry on that good work going forward,” she added.
