Last week’s announcement from Bega Group about the closure of the 100-year-old Peanut Company of Australia paints a dire picture of manufacturing in Australia.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, in the year to June 2024, 5136 established Australian manufacturing businesses closed down.
