Deal reached with Albanese government over venue infrastructure funding for 2032 Games

Sofie Formica

The Crisafulli government has confirmed that a deal with the Federal Government has been reached for venue infrastructure for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.

The Albanese government’s $3.435 billion contribution to the $7.1 billion Games Venue Infrastructure Program will be “refined and reallocated”, ensuring critical infrastructure for the games is delivered.

Reading out the statement, Sofie Formica says over 17 new and pre-existing venues will be upgraded, and confirmed that tennis will remain in Brisbane.

“Minor venue procurement is launched today for work to commence at four key Games venues across the state: Logan Indoor Sports Centre, Moreton Bay Indoor Sports Centre, Barlow Park Stadium upgrade and Sunshine Coast Stadium upgrade,” she said.
