Coalition’s Budget Reply a Step Backwards on Housing

Phil O'Neil

Phil speaks with Everybody’s Home spokesperson Maiy Azize, who says the Coalition’s budget reply worsens the housing crisis.

Azize criticises plans to let people dip into superannuation to buy homes, warning it will push up prices and hurt retirement savings. She also slams the proposed scrapping of the Housing Australia Future Fund, which would cut social housing at a time of rising rental stress and homelessness.

With the election approaching, Azize calls for bold policies—more social housing, renter protections, and an end to investor tax breaks—to make housing affordable for all Australians.
