Citroen C3 hatchback – gets a price reduction and more equipment on 19 model year stock.
The small Citroen C3 hatch arrived last year – the five-door French hatch in one high-spec Shine variant – the 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol six-speed automatic. An appealing small French hatch with real charm the C3 has been slow to sell. Good news this week from the importer – model year ‘18 stock reduced by $3,125 to $23,990 drive-away while Model year ’19 stock at $26,990 drive-away represents a saving of $3,750. And the good news is the Model year 19 Citroen C3 gains autonomous emergency braking, keyless entry and start, Sat Nav and 16-inch alloy wheels. I’ve just driven this later model and it’s a really appealing small five door hatch – nicely built with clever colour touches in body and trim and exceedingly comfortable with a great ride. The styling typically French and different but not quirky. Standard fare includes a rear view camera, rear parking sensors, cruise control with a speed limiter, climate control air, automatic lights and wipers and an excellent colour touch screen with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Additional features include speed limit recognition, lane departure warning, hill start assist and a sensible coffee break alert. Fuel consumption – I managed at 5.1L/100km on the combined city/country cycle aided by idle stop technology – the torquey three-cylinder engine working a treat with the six-speed automatic. The Citroen C3 also features static cornering lights to highlight the inside of a winding road. With its new pricing structure the Citroen C3 now deserves to be on your small car shopping list.
