Chris Bowen’s reckless lies about nuclear energy

A few weeks ago, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen, armed with departmental modelling, suggested that it would cost taxpayers $387 billion to build 71 small modular nuclear reactors to replace Australia’s entire fleet of coal-fired electrical generators that still produce two-thirds of the nation’s power.

Luke is joined by Robert Parker, former president of the Australian Nuclear Association & founder of Nuclear For Climate Australia, who believes these numbers are way off the mark.

Mr Parker reveals what’s happening with nuclear generation around the world and what he thinks is a more realistic cost should Australia travel down the path to nuclear power generation.
