Bushfire fears over Wombat forest
There are growing concerns as fallen tress still lie on the floor of the Wombat state forest in Victoria.
Following major storms in June 2021 little to no progress has been made to clear the area, and with bush fire season on the way there are major concerns for the area.
There’s around 600,000 tonnes of fallen trees, spread across 2500 hectares.
Rural Reporter Georgia Kondek caught up with University of Melbourne Associate Professor and Bushfire scientist Kevin Tolhurst to discuss the impact this situation could have.
