Building association laments missed opportunity with skilled migration reform

The federal government announced the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL), aimed at addressing the major skills shortage in the construction industry.

The list included 456 trades, but not all have been included.

CEO of the Master Builders Association Australia Denita Wawn told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, “We’re perplexed by the decision today, and concerned we have not been listened to effectively to resolve these shortages.”

“It simply does not make any sense to us,” Ms Wawn continued.
