Fans of the iconic Women’s Weekly Birthday Cake cookbook will be able to collect coins based on the cakes from the book in time for the 45th anniversary of the book’s release.

Author and chef, Pamela Clark, says she never anticipated the book would end up being loved by families across Australia.

“It didn’t sell that well in Australia … Finally, it started to take off in Australia, and we don’t really know why,” she told Sofie Formica.

Ms Clark also says she’s been honoured by the reveal of the collectible coins.

“It’s really quite special, and it almost brings a tear to your eye,” she added.
