Bega Cheese to pay farmers more & backs mandatory code

Dairy farmers who supply Bega Cheese will be paid more, as the competition for milk intensifies between processors.

The processor is increasing the price paid to farmers from Victoria and parts of New South Wales.

The company is also backing in the mandatory dairy code of conduct, but says it’s disappointing the supermarkets weren’t made to sign up.
