Autonomous driving nonsense

David Berthon

The subject of autonomous driving is the motoring topic of the moment. So it was refreshing at this week’s Frankfurt Motor Show to read the comments from a member of BMW’S board of management Klaus Frohlich on the subject – Frohlich suggested that in order to meet its own stringent safety requirements fully autonomous level 5 driving technology is not yet available for mass market production – BMW he suggests now uses more sensors and more hardware for Level 2 autonomous technologies than some of its competitors including Tesla use for Level 5. According to Frohlich the ability to mimic the human eye
