Australian republican lays case for referendum
Do you remember the 1999 Australian republic referendum? Back then, 45 percent of us supported ditching our constitutional monarchy in favour of a republic. While it wasn’t successful, the issue has never really gone away. It even resurfaced last week when prime minister Scott Morrison met the Queen.
Andrew Fraser is the Queensland convenor of the Australian Republican Movement, and he’s here to put forward the reasons why he would vote to change the system.
