Wheel of Fortune was first broadcast on the Nine Network in 1959 after having been developed by Grundy as a radio game show.
Reginald Roy Grundy AC, OBE (4 August 1923 – 6 May 2016) was Australia’s media mogul, best known for his numerous television productions including Blankety Blanks, Match Game & Wheel of Fortune before later diversifying into soap operas and serials including Prisoner, The Young Doctors, Sons and Daughters and Neighbours.
