A quick and easy way to find your cheapest petrol

David Berthon

Finding the cheapest petrol is not easy but there a few ways you can ease the pain and its as close as your smartphone.

There’s a number of apps out there that can save you time and money. Some offer more benefits than others. One app I like is MotorMouth which lets you search around the map looking for the cheapest petrol prices sorted by fuel type.

Importantly, make sure you’re using the correct fuel grade for your car. Waze is another recommended app with great features, different in that it can advise crowd sourced fuel prices along your actual drive route. GasBuddy is another handy fuel app, it doesn’t open to a map but to a list of local fuel outlets and prices – more detailed than some others with a drives section that combines GPS and sensor data to tell you if you’re driving uneconomically. Check out these apps on my podcast site.
