A double demerit point weekend could cost you your license

A double demerit weekend but does it really resonate today with the majority of motorists on the figures alone it doesn’t seem to worry a certain percentage of motorists who throw caution to the wind on a daily basis. Victoria, in terms of speed cameras and enforcement – drive two kilometres over the limit on a speed camera and you’ll get booked. However, this year their road tolls stands at 139, 51 more that at the same time last year – a 36 per cent increase. In N.S.W. the toll is at 166, 11 more than last year – a 6 per cent increase. And the devil may care attitude by many drivers is not just the reserve of young people. Just this week a 70-year old women in the Hills District pulled up 100 metres short of a breath test station – it turned out she was driving without a license and had been disqualified from driving in 2012 until 2028.
