Peter Psaltis has weighed in on the whispers the NRL will introduce a nationwide reserve grade competition.

The Wide World of Sports host says it’s a “very important” developing story, and should be of concern to Queensland fans in particular.

He has spoken to officials in recent days.

“The drums are beating louder and louder, that there will be, in the not too distant future, an NRL reserve grade competition,” he said.

“That is what certain people in NSW want – and it’s my understanding it’s what the commission in the end, wants.”

Psalty is not a fan, for a number of reasons.
