Peter Psaltis pays tribute to ‘Kangaroo Catcher’ Michael Purcell

wide world of sports

Peter Psaltis has paid tribute to Michael Purcell, who sadly died in a car crash on the weekend.

The 28-year-old, affectionately called the Kangaroo Catcher, was an “exciting, unique” player, Psalty said.

Purcell starred for the Ipswich Jets and in the Queensland Cup.

Psalty says he followed Purcell’s career, and he was a popular figure who lived and breathed the game.

“Thank you for the memories you put a smile on the faces of a lot of people, rest in peace, Michael Purcell,” he said.

“You will be missed by many.”
