Peter Psaltis has reacted to criticism of Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett, and his apparent “no-show” at a trial match in Cairns last night.

Bennett’s absence at the Cowboys game was noted by some in the rugby league community.

But the 4BC Wide World of Sports host said it was a “beat-up” and a non-event, given Bennett was at training at 7am with the players who didn’t go to Cairns this morning.

“In my opinion Wayne not being in Cairns is the biggest non-issue going around, and I can’t believe that it has been turned into an issue by some around the place.”
