Peter Parr is making a move to the Newcastle Knights, leaving the North Queensland Cowboys in what he describes as a bittersweet move.

He’ll be the new director of football at the Knights.

“I haven’t lived there in a long time, I left there at the end of 1991 with no intention of staying away that long, to finally get an opportunity to go back at a club I have always kept a keen interest in,” he told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports.

“Back to a place where the community loves their football team, it all aligned for me on this occasion decided to take up the offer, take up the challenge.

“But of course, [it’s] a bit bittersweet for me.”
