‘People should be voting on policies… not emotional issues from the past’

Candidates in the Wentworth by-election are ramping up campaigning ahead of tomorrow’s crucial poll.

Liberal Dave Sharma, Independent Doctor Kerryn Phelps, and Labor’s Tim Murray are among 16 candidates in the running for the government-held seat.

Vote Australia President Lex Stewart tells Alan Jones residents in the seat in Sydney’s east need to “choose wisely”.

“It’s up to the individual voter, you number the squares what you feel, but think about it.

“Let it be your conscious, informed choice how you number the ballot paper.

“People should be voting on policies, the competence of the candidate to do the job.

“Those are the things that matter, not the emotional issues from the past, we’re voting for the future. Choose wisely.”
