Owner of South Brisbane landmark assures QLDers it’s here to stay

The owner of the iconic Brisbane Skyneedle says the local landmark will remain as a feature piece of the city’s skyline indefinitely, despite plans to develop the night.

Skyneedle owner and hairdresser tycoon Stefan Ackerie bought the heritage-listed tower after he caught wind of a plane for it to be moved overseas.

Mr Ackerie said plans for three 12-storey towers were perfect.

He wanted Brisbane residents to know the needle is now heritage-listed.

“It looks absolutely incredible, it’s really revamped to its original glory and it is now a gift to Brisbane people, and it will be owned by Brisbane people forever.”
