We’re one step closer to Hollywood’s night of nights, with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today releasing its Oscar nomination shortlists. 

Every year, the Academy releases shortlists for 10 categories ahead of nominations voting. But the bigger story is often the titles left off the list.

4BC entertainment reporter Mike Gambaro told Jason Dasey on 4BC Summer Drive there are two categories to pay closer attention to.

“It comes to Visual Effects and Best Original Score: those are the two that will influence … Best Picture,” he said.
