Former Home and Away star Lincoln Lewis has spoken out after catfisher Lydia Abdelmalek had her prison sentence increased.

Ms Abdelmalek, 32, had her sentence increased by an extra year and four months to four years after she stalked five women posing as the Aussie actor.

The harassment drove one of the women to take her own life.

“It’s one of relief – I’m not going to lie, it’s been going for 11 years now,” he told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons.

“I think the thing that keeps going through my mind is gratitude for the prosecutors and detectives that worked so hard to bring everything forward.

“But also hopefully for those victims and families of those who have been affected, hopefully this provides some closure and gives them something to move forward and it closes the book on something that’s going on for some long.”
