A Byron Bay woman is seeking legal action after she was sacked for getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

Lainie Chait was working for the Church of Ubuntu, a ‘spiritual and holistic wellness centre’ near Newcastle, as a client care consultant when she was let go because the church said vaccination was against its beliefs.

Ms Chait told Chris Smith she will dispute the termination through the Fair Work Commission.

“This is not a revenge act for me – it’s justice.

“I’ve devoted my life’s work to helping people … it was a kick in the guts.”
