The director of Rocketman, a new musical biopic about the life of Elton John, insists nothing’s off limits in the tell-all film.

The long-anticipated movie, starring Taron Egerton as Elton John, has premiered all over the world to rave reviews.

It’s the latest musical movie from director Dexter Fletcher, who is known for rescuing Bohemian Rhapsody after its original director was fired towards the end of the project.

He sat down with Chris Smith’s producer Harnsle Joo, telling her Elton John was 100 per cent on board with the project.

“The first lunch that I sat down with him at, he said to me, ‘ask me anything you want. Nothing’s out of bounds, let’s talk about all of it.’

“Which meant as the storyteller, as the filmmaker I had his full support.

“He’s very candid, he’s very frank. It’s part of his strength and his wonderfulness.”
