Gary Hardgrave

The Emergency Leaders for Climate Action will blast the Morrison government at a press conference today over its handling of the floods.

Former QFES Commissioner Lee Johnson told Neil Breen there needs to be a focus on reducing carbon emissions and coordinating governments.

“The Royal Commission into Natural Disaster Arrangements … made a number of recommendations on how to get the resources of the feds to the states in better ways,” he said.

“But something went not quite right this time in some of those arrangements.

“It is getting the federal government to take a leadership role at the national level on climate for sure and then through their agencies.”
