Nigel Farage weighs in on Australia’s conservative political landscape

neil breen

Controversial British broadcaster Nigel Farage has weighed in on Australia’s political landscape, saying conservative parties must not become “Labor lite” in an attempt to win votes.

The former Brexit Party leader said conservative leaders needed to ignore some of the “noise” from the capital cities.

“Whether it’s state elections or at a national federal level, whatever conservative parties and movement, try to be Labor lite, because they think by doing that they will get less criticism and people will be nice to them, guess what happens? They lose elections.”

Asked about former prime minister Scott Morrison, Farage said he wasn’t sure.

“I am not sure what he is really, but certainly not a conservative.”
